Meet Eric and Julie Slick

Julie Slick, 20, began taking bass lessons at age 12 with Paul Green as one of 17 students Green taught in his apartment in 1998 in order to help pay his tuition at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a philosophy major. Green had the students to jam at venues around the city to give them real experience as musicians. For their first show, Green and his students performed at Pink Floyd's The Wall at the Griffin Cafe at Second and Market Streets. He didn't have a drummer so the owner of the restaurant sat in. Julie’s mother, Robin, suggested that Green consider her 11-year-old son, Eric, who eventually the house drummer. The Paul Green School of Rock Music was later born, Eric began studying drum lessons at the school and now teaches there.
Their first show was in Indianapolis Thursday night, to be followed by performances in Springfield, Ohio, Friday night and Chicago on Saturday night. On July 12, they leave for Germany where they will play a series of shows/festivals twice in Germany, Italy and Holland. An East Coast swing, including an August 14 show at the World Cafe Live in Philly, starts on August 8. Then they travel south on August 16 to Atlanta for another festival. More dates may be added, but at this point the tour wraps up on August 18 in Florida. They will then record a CD with Belew that will be followed by a West Coast swing in November.

Did the World Cafe Live date (with Belew) get cancelled? It's not on his site or the WCL site. Anybody?
No, it's just not up there yet. It's August 14.
Hope to see you there!
Don't worry - I wouldn't miss it.
Thanks.
